Entry #10: Nuclear Cars

Image
It should be made clear from the start that this idea is purely theoretical. Under no circumstances should this be made into a real thing. With that out of the way, installing nuclear reactors into cars could be a beneficial thing. To start, nuclear fuel is highly efficient, with so much fuel in one small thing. According to sources, nuclear energy has a 92.5% energy factor, making it more efficient than regular fuel, with less stop time and more distance being covered. But what about the driver and passengers in the car? Won’t they be affected by the radiation? The simple solution is the build the car with a material mostly consisting of lead. It has been proven that shielding materials such as lead protect a person from the harms of radiation. However, the con that comes from this idea is that one of the downsides is that accidents become much more severe. When a car gets into an accident, the surrounding area will be affected with heat, radiation, and, depending on how many pe...

Entry #9: Topics in Food Quest

Image
The drawing that I chose I felt should be shared with the class is about two men, one behind a stand with the sign that says FAST FOOD, the second man is a customer looking up at the sign and sarcastically remarking how it was clever to include an ‘S’ in the word FAST. I chose this comic because it is a simple and effective way to subtly hint at the fact that fast food may be fast, but it isn’t healthy. The customer’s remark implies that the sign would really mean FAT FOOD, which is true, because consuming fast food regularly increases a person's weight and has to many unhealthy ingredients in it. This drawing is relevant because it shows a truth to fast food businesses, it may be fast to serve its customers in only a few short minutes, but it is also serves as a downside because while it may satisfy hunger, it also harms the consumer

Entry #8: Un-Obese the Morbidly

Image
Obesity is a major problem around the world, especially in the United States. According to statistics, around 100 million people in the United States alone suffer from obesity. This is why a theoretical proposal was made to create something to fix that problem. This proposal will bring something forth called 'Fat Camps'. The idea for these Fat Camps will be for the obese and the obese only. Morbidly obese people will be brought to these Fat Camps in order to lose weight. The people here will not receive inhumane treatment and will be treated to accommodate their needs, such as private rooms and bathrooms. The people here will have to lose weight through activities and exercise (Walking, hiking, swimming, etc.). The morbidly obese at the Fat Camps will be treated fairly, those will special needs such as disability will receive more attention from staff. Doctor-recommended diets will be placed and there will be daily exercise implemented. These Fat Camps will be legally enforced...
